I love my curls! Which is something I thought I would never say. I always refused to go natural because I didn’t think my hair would grow and I also wasn’t sure what my texture would be and if I could manage it. Well 8 months later it’s true love! I have never really talked about why I went natural or talked about products I use, which I will in another post as to save time cause I know y’all is busy. BUT I recently had crochet braids in and took them out this past weekend and it made me realize how much I really missed my hair. I mean I am not working with much but what I do have is fabulous, ok? I was a little worried about taking the braids out because I wanted to make sure that I gave my hair all it needed after being braided up for so long. I thought that my regular products would do the trick but I was given the opportunity to try some shampoo from a brand called Maple Holistics and I thought it would the perfect time to test it out.
I finger detangled my hair as much as I could before washing it and then followed my usual wash day routine which consist of wash, condition, deep condition, and then the LOC Method. So about this shampoo….
1. The shampoo I received was the brands Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and it smells amazing. Not like a fruity amazing but a NATURAL amazing. Which it should considering the fact that it is 100% natural and parabens-free and GMO-free. It’s not always that the products you can’t live without smell great AND work well.
2. I felt like the shampoo really cleansed my hair and scalp. Sometimes when I wash I feel as if the shampoos that I am using still leave build up even if I wash twice. I don’t usually have to add a lot of product to my hair during the week but it is hella’ annoying when I can’t seem to get out the residue of the little product I do use. I knew that after having my hair braided up and trying to keep my scalp moisturized and my edges slicked that I would need to make sure I got all of the gunk and dirt out. I didn’t have anything left behind and my hair felt truly clean.
3. IT LATHERS! I know this seems like something dumb to be excited about but I am a lather person. If it doesn’t lather I can’t get with it and I don’t feel clean. That goes for hair, body, shoot even dishes. I.NEED.SUDS. This shampoo lathered up so nice like a dream come true. That alone made me feel like my hair was getting super cleansed.
Overall I definitely recommend trying this product and trying the other natural products they sell. They even have a samples program that allows you try out their products for free! Free is always good but honestly it is even better because these products are all natural, cruelty-free, and they offer products for a range of needs. If you happen to try out any of the products let me know!
Until Next Time…
