Oysters + Wine

The cold is upon us and I am not here for it. I do like wearing sweaters, vest, and boots but these can easily be put together for a nice fall day at a nice 60 degrees. I do like the snow but only because that = Snow Days which in turn = a day off and a day off is always welcome. There are those people who feel like they get bored being at home and not working but I am not one of those people. I thrive at home in my pajamas watching trashy reality television and when you think about it someone has to do it and I am all about volunteering.

Last weekend Elle, my mom, and I went to the Urbanna Oyster Festival which has become a tradition and it was pretty awesome. They celebrated their 60th year doing the festival and a lot of people came out to celebrate. We met people from D.C. and Maryland that came down and I’m sure that there are tons of others from all over. Urbanna is a small town by the water and I would think that this is probably the biggest event they host all year. It seems like a lot of people probably have vacation homes there instead of living there full time. Either way it is always fun to drink, eat, and shop and the weather was great and Elle was even greater they both receive a gold star. The festival is usually in November so if you get a chance I highly recommend it. Plenty of Oysters, activities for the kids, AND you only pay for parking the festival itself is free.

Sunday was not to be outdone by Saturday so mom, Tyra, and I found ourselves at the Ashton Creek Vineyard which has become a favorite for not only us but any victim we drag with us to their many events. My BFF and second mom also decided to attend and it made for a nice family outing/girls days. They winery was celebrating it’s one year anniversary and the agony of missing it would have been toO much to bear so I went and sipped me some wine and ate me some cheese and meat, never one to turn down food or drinks. If you are in the Chesterfield area you should definitely check it out. The staff is great, the wine is great, and the food is great. Sooo… obiviously. But it was nice to sit and chat and relax before the beginning of a new week.

I have been a little stressed lately so I told Desmond a stress reliever for me would be putting up the Christmas tree. We started tonight but I love procrastination so we will finish tomorrow. I think I am more excited for the holidays than ever this year. Hope some of you are also. Hoping to do a giveaway soon!

Until Next Time!
