Pumpkin Patch + “Life”

Soooo… it’s been a while. I could say sorry but would I really mean it? I mean I’m sorry in a sense but I know everyone can relate to a time when “life” takes hold. You don’t even need an explanation because just “life” and that’s it. Well it’s been like that for some months and I’m just now getting back into the swing of things. I’ll try my best to summarize my “life” right now buttttttt, life can hardly be summarized these days.

Most people know I got a new job as teacher! This has been something I have been wanting and working on for a long time. To actually be teaching is crazy to me! I never would have imagined this time last year that I would be in my own classroom. And although it has been an adventure it has also been challenging. There is so much that teachers do and it’s never ending. When you were little and you played teacher all you did all day was tell little Timmy to sit down and grade fake papers. Well that was BS. Grading papers is not fun. Meetings are never ending. BUT having the kids understand and enjoy learning is priceless so I think I’ll stick around for a bit.

Let’s be honest. Having a lot of money is great but not having a lot of money sucks. In the last year Desmond and I had to buy two new cars (and by new I mean new to us but used) unexpectedly. I graduated so I now pay both student loans and my love of a good deal, or two, or three caught up to me (credit cards are the devil). So financially it’s been a struggle and stressful AF. Not to mention that by starting my new job I went about a month and a half without a paycheck AND the county I work in only gets paid once a month. Which by the way is no bueno. We are finding our groove slowly but surely by budgeting and keeping the faith (thank you Jesus). Our family and friends have been so supportive too so Amen for them.

Elle is the best thing that ever happened to me but as my grandma would say “Goodness Gracious” she is a handful. She is so inquisitive, noisy, and most of all teething. The teething is insane. Elle is getting her teeth later than a lot of babies her age from what I have seen so we are experiencing what feels like all of her teeth coming in at once which is so much fun…. -_- Anyway she has not been the happiest camper or sleeper as a matter of fact, so in turn neither have I. I will say she is happiest outside and that is where we try and keep her some of the time so she can run off all her energy and then partially sleep through the night. Or not. Obviously her choice.

Other than working, chasing Elle, and searching Facebook Marketplace for household bundles for sale (because couponing is cool but where is the time?) I have just been plugging along and trying to make the most of the weekends with Desmond and Elle. We have been attending quite a few festivals and it is always fun to get out and try and do new things especially when the weather is nice. So this weekend we went to the Pumpkin Patch and it was awesome!

We tried a new patch this year called Gallmeyer Farms and it was worth the extra little drive. There are a lot of patches in our area but they all charge from like $7 to $12 dollars in order for the kids to partake in the activities. Which is fine if your child is older and can do everything but Elle is so small that all she really wants to do is run around and go wild. Gallmeyer Farm had a play area, straw maze, hayride, and the pumpkin patch that was all free! The only thing we paid for were the pumpkins themselves. Elle had so much fun running and playing and then looking at the pumpkins and it was a better experience than last year where it was freezing and I had to pay just to ride out to the pumpkin patch for 20 minutes. So I am thinking that this farm will be our spot from now on. We really enjoyed it and Elle did too.

As not to talk you guys to death I will end here and hopefully it will not be two months before you hear from me again. I would promise but I like to keep my promises and these days the only promises I can keep are that I promise I’m taking care of Elle, I promise I’m drinking wine to relive stress, and I promise that I’m getting ready to break out Christmas music because it’s never too early.

Until Next Time!
